Pete reunites with Cindy Gumballs and her sweet friends

Pete places some jars of sweets on the counter and declares “I love you guys”, with his mouth full.

His scene takes place in the garden, where the jars of sweets now have googly eyes and wigs, and are gathered together with glasses of wine—except for one which only has water.

Pete and Tom Cashman voice the jars in high-pitched tones. One of them (Cindy Gumballs) proposes a toast, giving a shout-out to ‘Donna’, who has quit drinking. Cindy then explains that her heart had been broken 30 years ago, when she’d lost her love, Pete, to a tragic accident that had never been explained to her. It turns out that Donna had been there and witnessed the whole thing, and now that she’s sober, she reveals that Pete is actually still alive, and living in the caravan nearby.

Despite one friend (Eileen) suggesting that Cindy can do better, the jars all rush to the caravan. Pete emerges and exclaims “Cindy Gumballs?” before kissing a jar and eating some of her sweets. When Cindy reminds him that her friends are also present, he says that he loves them all equally, and then begins eating their sweets too.

When asked why he had faked his death, Pete claims that it was all just a rumour, and that he’s actually just been drinking. He and Cindy then retreat into the caravan to “catch up”, before the caravan starts rocking and Pete ecstatically yells “Cindy Gumballs!”.

In the studio, when Tom Gleeson asks what Pete was doing in the caravan, he responds “Getting sticky”. Tom notes that Pete had managed to find a way to use wigs again, but notes that the story was oddly moving. When Tom suggests that the characters already had a past, so the scene didn’t count as a meet-cute, Pete attempts to argue that the guy in the caravan was actually a twin.

Pete earns 1 point.
