Rhys falls in love with the concept of driving

Rhys initially claims that comedians often avoid love because happiness hinders their creativity.

Outside the house, they express a desire to drive the ute—even for just a few metres—and declare “I love you” to the concept of driving.

Rhys’ scene begins with Tom Cashman next to the ute, wielding a hammer and a wheel. Mist and sci-fi sound effects signal the arrival of a time machine in the form of a tent, from which Rhys emerges dressed in a white bodysuit and goggles, and holding a futuristic-looking gun.

Rhy asks Tom if he’s Hitler, noting that he’s “a real arsehole”, before confirming that he’s actually the founder of a motor vehicle company in 1903 (i.e. Henry Ford). When Tom says that his company will mass-produce motorised vehicles, Rhys asks how he would conceptualise that. When Tom responds with “The concept of driving”, Rhys removes their glasses and walks toward the ute, sensually stroking it while jazz music plays.

Suddenly, Tom yells “Hey, get away from my concept!”, but Rhys responds with “No! We’re in love! This is my concept!” and then shoots him dead. They then jump into the driver’s seat, tearfully declaring “I love you, the concept of driving.”

In the studio, Tom Gleeson praises Rhys for convincingly falling in love with something abstract, and Tom Cashman notes that this is the third time that Rhys has killed him in a task.

Rhys earns 4 points.
