Mel transforms Tom into a dreamboat feminist icon
After reading the task brief, Mel dryly exclaims “Impossible. He’s already perfect!”.
Nonetheless, Mel gets to work by undoing the top buttons on his shirt, and stuffing fun fur into it to create the impression that he is more muscular. Next, she darkens his stubble using mascara, before bringing him a jar of pickles, explaining that spicy food is manly. She also renames him ‘Leonardo’.
Mel surrounds Tom with a surfboard, a radio-controlled car, a bottle of beer, and the jar of pickles balanced on a skateboard. She then poses him on one knee, flexing one arm, with his fist under his chin, and prompts him to read the following speech, which she’s written on yellow paper:
Hi there, I’m Leonardo Cashman-Parnell. I’m thoughtful, but I’m also strong and my beard is black. I donate every month, and I always take the bus. No weird DMs from me. I have to go straight home to feed my rescue dogs, and I let women speak in meetings.
Mel applauds her creation and proclaims the new Tom to be “Perfection”.
In the studio, Tom Gleeson highlights the line in Tom’s speech about letting women speak in meetings, and jokes that that’s definitely an improvement, as there aren’t usually any women in the meetings with Tom Cashman.
Mel earns 3 points.
