Claudia bites off a lot more than she can chew
Claudia opts to attempt the course using a 420cm long pole.
She manages to hit the statue of Greg with the rear end of the pole before she has even entered the house. Immediately regretting her decision to select such a long pole, she approaches Alex with it, bashing it into the ground a few more times, while asking him to make it shorter. Alex refuses to change the length for her at this point in the task.
Inside the house, she immediately incurs multiple deductions in the hallway, and then many more as she attempts to negotiate the turn into the study, bashing both ends of the pole into the floor, walls, and doorway.
Leaving the house via the study’s outer doors, she continues to strike multiple objects with the pole, including the door and the phone box. She decides that the only way to negotiate the phone box is to use the pole itself to push the far door open. This approach nets her multiple penalties, as she strikes the door several times in a row. Alex cannot supress his laughter at this point.
While attempting to pass the pole beneath Linda the cow, her pole touches the ground multiple times, which she denies outright.
She also strikes the tyre tunnel and the mailbox a lot, all the while claiming that no contact is taking place.
At the end of her attempt, she asks Alex whether he was pleased with her performance, to which he responds that, if she hadn’t touched anything, he thinks she’d probably have won it.
Back in the studio, Alex reveals that Claudia struck objects with her pole 41 times, reducing her initially impressive pole to a mere 10cm, and earning her last place. She immediately hides behind her chair in shame.
