Dara's worm trumpet
Here's a description of the contestant's attempt. Someone's probably working on collecting some images to illustrate it.
Dara brings in what he calls a 'worm trumpet', which he says you're supposed to lie on the ground with, so you can hear the worms moving around in the soil. What it actually appears to be is a wooden Pinard horn - a type of stethoscope typically used to listen for the heartbeat of a fetus. [Note: these devices are apparently sold as 'worm trumpets' at The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.] Greg awards Dara second place.
