Ève attempts to melt the ice with her body heat

Ève initially seems to be trying to wear away the ice by rubbing the top of it with her gloved hands.

She then uses a shovel to break the ice block into smaller chunks, on the astroturf.

She then tries to melt some of those chunks with her body heat, holding them between her legs, in her armpits, and also breathing directly onto one, in front of her face.

Realising that this method will take hours to have any effect, she places the chunks into a wheelbarrow, which she begins to fill with water.

While that's happening, she attacks the largest remaining chunk with a baseball bat, to break it up.

She then boils a kettle and makes up a bucket of hot water to help speed up the melting process.

As the final seconds count down, she frantically stirs the remaining chunks of ice around, inside the bucket of warm water.

Although the footage shown appears to reveal that some small chunks remained floating in her bucket, Antoine states, in the studio, that she successfully managed to make the whole block disappear.

She is therefore awarded first place in the task.
