The first season of Le Maître du Jeu, consisting of 12 episodes, began airing in Canada on Thursday evenings, from 15 September 2022.

The contestants for the season were Mehdi Bousaidan, Ève Côté, Christine Morency, Matthieu Pepper, and Jo Cormier.

Filming of the pre-recorded tasks reportedly took place in June 2022 in Saint-Bruno.

The filming of the live studio segments of the season took place at the Rialto Theater in Quebec between 31 July 2022 and 8 August 2022.

Notes

  • News that the season had begun production, and the identities of the season's cast, were first reported on 12 April 2022 (CVTM article / Hollywood PQ article).
  • On 4 July 2022 it was reported that filming of the tasks had been taking place over the previous few weeks, and that filming for the studio segments would begin on 31 July (Hollywood PQ article / ShowBizz article).
  • Based on some of the images released by Noovo on 4 July 2022, the teams for team tasks appear to be split as follows: Christine, Mehdi and Jo, vs. Matthieu and Eve.
  • Tickets to attend the live studio filming sessions at the Rialto Theater in Quebec were made available through Public Cible, where details of the filming schedule revealed that 12 episodes were to be filmed, in total.
  • On 4 August 2022 Noovo posted a few photos from the studio production sessions on its Facebook and Twitter accounts.
  • On 11 August 2022 someone who had attended the filming of two episodes of the show posted an account of their experience on the Bother's Bar gameshow website, in which they revealed that all the tasks used in the show had been adapted from Taskmaster UK, and that the show would begin airing on Thursday evenings, from mid-September.

Notes on discrepancies

  • The total official points earned by Ève, based on both the final episode scoreboards, and the season scoreboard updates shared throughout the season, are slightly different than those observed to have been awarded to her, due to a discrepancy in episode 2.
  • This discrepancy ultimately did not affect the contestants' overall standings in the season.
