Carol nails the pirate accent
Carol immediately notices, after the first doorbell ring, that the colours on the card have been inverted.
When the phone starts ringing, after the third doorbell ring, she considers answering it, but then instead decides to try to focus on counting the dots instead.
She notices that the board has changed again, after the fourth doorbell ring, and does pretty well at imitating a pirate, since she has lived in Bristol, and can therefore do the accent.
When trying to feed the blackbird its seeds, after the fifth doorbell ring, she suggests that she could start putting them into an orifice other than its 'beak'.
After the final doorbell ring, she again notes that the card has changed, and realises that Alex has been flipping it each time.
Finishing up her calculations, which she does not explain, she gives a final answer of 1,683, which is only 59 out from the correct total. She therefore earns second place in the task.
