Anders disappoints himself
After Mark presents his shop, he describes the expensive scissors as a “quick resolution”.
Anders counters that the scissors are actually “settling”, foreshadowing how he intends to handle the task.
He begins by throwing several of the rubber ducks at the balloon, possibly to warm up his throwing arm without incurring a time penalty.
As he returns to Mark’s store for more ducks, he notes that “just because something is free, doesn’t mean it is good.” Still, Anders continues to throw ducks at the balloon.
Admitting defeat surprisingly early, Anders tosses his final duck behind him and picks up the scissors, cutting the nearby string and popping the balloon.
Anders makes no attempt to hide his disappointment that he has resorted to using the scissors, as he simply stares at Mark and sighs lowly.
In the studio, when Lasse asks Anders why he spent so long with the rubber ducks, Anders jokes that he “loves a bargain”, but then admits that he hadn’t really thought through how a rubber duck might pop a balloon, and admits that he is not particularly proud of his performance.
Anders pops the balloon in 15 minutes and 13 seconds, and earns third place.
