Jesper enters the world of gritty politics

Jesper introduces his signed vegetable by saying that it comes from the world of “gritty politics”.

He begins to drop hints about the identity of the politician from whom he has secured an autograph, which make it very clear that he is referring to former US President Barack Obama.

He eventually confirms that this is the case, before claiming that Obama’s favourite vegetable is broccoli (at least, according to the research he says he’d done on Reddit).

He then removes the cloth concealing his head of broccoli to reveal that it indeed has Barack Obama’s actual autograph on it – but in the form of an autographed copy of the cover of Obama’s book A Promised Land, which Jesper has simply attached to the stalk of his broccoli.

Jesper then gives Lasse his choice of two stories as to how the autograph was obtained: either he had met Obama during a lecture in 2018 and gotten the autograph then [note: the book from which the cover is taken was published in 2020], or he had simply purchased the book online, a few days before the studio recording.

Lasse awards Jesper fourth place, because the autograph was not actually on the broccoli, and because broccoli is quite a popular vegetable (and therefore, not very interesting).

Note: This is not the end of the story of Barack Obama’s autograph, as is later revealed in Hadi’s attempt at the 'Reveal something with this camera' task.
