Bubbah stumbles across the solution

Bubbah doesn’t know which tape has a picture of a blue mackerel on it, so picks and plays a tape at random.

Being so young, she is somewhat unfamiliar with audio cassette technology, and tries to force the tape into one of the players.

She then plays another tape (presumably also selected at random) and hears the word “entered”.

She then plays the tape featuring Guy Montgomery’s song about the Festive Fox, which she is of course completely unfamiliar with, because she hasn’t watched the show.

After playing the tape containing the word “snap”, she snaps her fingers, and Paul copies her, which just annoys her.

She continues playing tapes at random, including the “No-one asked you to play this tape” one, and the one featuring Josh Thomson’s ‘Sushi Train’ song.

From the scattered words she manages to find, she guesses that the full message is “snap when pencil is entered”, which is grammatically inaccurate, but does lead her to think of snapping the pencil.

She completes the task in 17 minutes and 51 seconds, and therefore earns first place.
