Ray runs out of penalties

Ray’s first dart somehow manages to travel just far enough to burst a balloon without sticking into the target itself, instead falling straight downwards and popping two more.

Having hit two of Bubbah’s balloons and one of Dai’s, Ray instantly incurs three simultaneous penalties, having to make his next throw while wearing an eyepatch, standing on one leg, and throwing with his other hand. He has to wear his glasses over the eyepatch so he can still see out of his one remaining eye.

Ray’s second dart flies over the top of the target and almost hit the stage wall, scoring him no points but also incurring no further penalties.

His third dart, however, pops two balloons at once – one being Karen’s, and the other being Mel’s – meaning that he incurs another two penalties: throwing underarm, and wearing a second eyepatch over his other eye (note: he still puts his glasses back on over the dual eyepatches).

At this point, with Ray throwing completely blind, Jeremy leaves his throne and joins the contestants within the safety pen on stage.

Paul helps direct Ray to face the target, which he completely misses with his fourth dart.

His fifth dart, however, hits the target and pops one of Dai’s balloons. However, since he has already used up all of the available penalties, he is not further inconvenienced for his final throw.

His last dart again pops two balloons at once - one being Karen’s, and the other actually being one of Ray’s own balloons.

Having hit just one of his own balloons among the eight he popped, thanks to the other contestants bursting four more of his balloons, he gets a total of five and earns 1 point.
