Bubbah’s Samoan flag
Bubbah asks Jeremy if he knows her origin story. She then recounts a tale about when she started trying to do comedy, and how there was only ever white people in the audience, and no-one from her family. She’d then organised some free backyard shows for Māori and Polynesian people, which became a big thing in South Auckland, where she first got invited to do a solo show.
When she did that show, she took some South Auckland kids with her, who are pictured with her in a photo on screen. In the photo, she is wearing the Samoan flag over her shoulders, which is the item she has actually brought in as her prize submission.
She explains that it has been through a lot, because she takes it to parties and parades, and her dog also wears it sometimes.
She says she has also brought in a fresh new Samoan flag for the winner to make new memories with.
When Jeremy asks if she brags about the flag a lot, Bubbah says she only does so if she’s asked about it.
She earns 2 points, which she protests about and manages to get Jeremy to boost up to 3 points.
