Dai makes a dumb waiter using tape
Dai silently starts covering an apple in tape, before asking Paul if he’s noticed that most apples don’t have a lot of tape of them (which Paul says he has).
Dai then starts wrapping the tape around the handle of a Pyrex jug, while discussing how, when you’re on the bottom storey of a house, you might wonder how to get an apple without stopping reading your Mills & Boon book.
He dangles the roll of tape over the balcony edge, presumably gauging the distance.
As he tries to head inside the house, the tape (which is still attached to the jug, which contains the apple) gets stuck on him, causing him to trip, and the jug and apple to fall off the ledge and onto the balcony.
He adds some coriander to his jug, then dangles the collection of taped items off of the balcony. He adds the apple near the top, before the tape breaks and all of the objects fall.
He then heads down to ground level, and wraps the apple and coriander in yet more tape.
He fixes his construction and then demonstrates what he has made, which is effectively just a way of using tape to lower objects from the balcony to the ground. The lowered objects end up around hand height, which he claims makes them convenient to grab.
He’s very pleased with his creation, and suggests that he should be on Shark Tank.
He earns 2 points.
