Julian finds the shortcut

Most of the footage of Julian’s attempt shows him finding the majority of the available clues.

When he enters the LandPod to search for more of cut-out letters, he asks Alex who the people in the framed pictures are, identifying Adrian Chiles as “Giles someone” and Rob Beckett as “that man with the teeth”.

He does recognise that all of the people present (except for the New Years Treat winners) are comedians, but does not seem to know any of their names.

Searching for more clues, Julian opens the black door by the LandPod, and finds the picture of Josh Widdicombe, whom he recognises as “another comedian”, but cannot initially name, saying “Am I supposed to know his name?”.

Realising that he’s found the answer, Julian paces the area for a while, trying to recall Josh’s name. He describes Josh as “small and nasally”, but admits that he finds him funny. After remembering Josh’s first name, Julian attempts to pull the sword, with no luck.

He eventually also remembers Josh’s surname (to his own surprise), and pulls the sword out of the stone after 10 minutes and 23 seconds, winning the task.
