Marte downloads an app

After reading the task brief, Marte asks if the police need to be involved for the rule breaking to count.

She says that she’s not terribly concerned with rules in her everyday life, so she fetches her phone so that she can do some online research and identify rules that she can easily break.

After some Googling, Marte discovers that NRK (Norsk rikskringkasting [the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation]) a government-owned public radio and TV broadcasting company with which Marte has worked for 20 years), does not allow their employees to be on TikTok [note: because of TikTok’s financial ties with the Chinese government, and concerns over data security, many European government agencies have banned the installation of the app on devices used for work by their employees].

A visibly nervous Marte then downloads TikTok to her phone and plays a random video on it, to prove that she has indeed broken one of NRK’s rules.

After the task is completed, she worries about how this might affect her employment, and she makes a concerted effort to demonstrate to the camera that she has subsequently deleted the app from her phone.

As she leaves the room, she wonders out loud if she should make an official report of what she has done to NRK.

Atle awards Marte third place.
