Marte’s functioning ovaries

With little fanfare, Marte removes the cloth covering her prize submission to reveal a collection of tampons and sanitary pads, stating that she believes that she’s too old to still be menstruating (at the time of filming, Marte was 45 years old).

Marte says that after four children, she no longer needs to menstruate – that it “belongs to the youth” – and yet her body continues to do it. She admits that she’s very much looking forward to menopause.

Tete genuinely questions whether Marte still ovulating at the age of 45 is some kind of world record (thus coining the episode title), and the rest of the panel quickly educate him about when menopause traditionally starts (Marte still has a few years).

Atle awards Marte second place.
