Sue seeks assistance from Brian Blessed

Sue explains that when thinking about the prize task, she had wondered if she could submit something that would make everyone watching groan.

She says she’d had the idea to ask an authority figure for some help, and settled on requesting help from the “King of the Bird Men” (referencing the character Prince Vultan from the 1980 Flash Gordon movie, who was played by Brian Blessed).

Brian had agreed to record a message for her, to be played in the studio, and which went as follows:

I’ve got a voice that could stun a goat from over a mile away. And when I ask for a loud noise, it gets done. Just ask the winged bird man, Brian Blessed. You groan, like your life depends on it. Come on, come on. Groan! You feckless bastards! Come on! GROAN.

Greg tells Sue that she’s outdone herself, and awards her first place.
