Kevin uses stepping stones

If Kevin ever tries throwing the potato, it is not shown in the footage of his attempt.

Kevin pulls some large stones from a nearby rocky depression, and tosses them onto the red green, creating a pathway of stepping stones for himself, directly to the hole.

Kevin even has the presence of mind to make sure to throw the largest, flattest stone closest to the hole, as it is the one he will spend the most time on.

He walks across his stepping stones, and then drops the potato directly into the hole, dancing on the stones after he does so.

In the studio, Kevin takes a victory lap around the stage, high-fiving Louis, Antoine, his fellow competitors, and a few members of the audience.

Antoine says that Kevin’s accomplishment deserves a second look. Kevin’s attempt is then re-played using footage taken from a different angle, and it’s revealed that when Kevin had stepped on the first stone, he’d rocked backwards far enough that his heel had touched the red green.

Kevin is therefore disqualified from the task.
