Charlotta the charlatan
After spending some time trying to think of an idea, Charlotta wonders if there is enough time to shoot a short film, wherein she throws a fake David off of the house’s balcony, before revealing the real David lying dead on the ground below.
The two move to the balcony, where Charlotta dresses David in a yellow scarf, a goatee, and yellow sunglasses. The two then quickly improvise a scene wherein Charlotta says she cannot do the task, and wants to know how she can get out of it (and David says nothing but a very badly-acted “yes” to whatever Charlotta says). She then pushes David, as he leans backwards against the balcony.
The show’s editors deliberately leave in footage of Charlotta beginning to say the word “cut”, before the camera view switches to the ground below, looking upwards, with Charlotta throwing a very obvious mannequin dressed in David’s suit off of the balcony. After another camera cut, David falls to the gravel driveway, feigning death. Charlotta then walks by, laughing at David’s misfortune.
Babben awards Charlotta first place for her “vivid acting work” and, more specifically, because “she made the mannequin look as lifeless as David”.
