Mona has an affair with a coconut

Mona films a skit wherein she is a secretary, apparently carrying out calculations on a typewriter, as she attempts to balance a company’s books. After a knock sounds at the door, Antoine walks in carrying a briefcase. His actual head has been covered with a white cloth to match his undershirt, with a long tie added, to create the illusion that he merely has a long torso. On top of the white cloth, he has a coconut head, with googly eyes, a moustache, and some hair [Note: The entire set-up is similar in effect to Nish Kumar’s attempt at the original version of this task].

Monsieur Vézina awkwardly makes his way towards Mona’s desk (as he cannot see), and then hands Mona the task brief, which he says is her severance pay. When she demands to know why she is being fired, Monsieur Vézina admits that his wife suspects that something is going on between the two of them, and that he cannot allow things to continue, as his wife has given him an ultimatum.

Mona is upset that Monsieur Vézina has chosen his wife over her, given how much of her life she has sacrificed to help run their blow-up doll company. Monsieur Vézina commiserates, even reminding Mona that she had been the model for the company’s first doll.

In the studio, Louis likens Mona’s sketch to something out of the 1980s Quebecois variety show Les démons du midi (‘Midlife Crisis’), and he awards her fourth place. Mona insists that her low score is because Louis just does not like skits.
