Solveig’s simple solution
Solveig finds a glass fluid measuring jug, and two smaller pots. She places one of the smaller pots on the stove, and uses the jug to scoop mulled wine from the main pot into the other smaller pot. As she does so, she explains her plan to Olli: she will simply carry the smaller pot down to the stove when it is full, and use it to fill the other pot there.
Worrying that she may have overfilled her pot, Solveig nevertheless makes her way carefully down to the stove with it, and successfully transfers its contents to the other pot.
She then returns to the main pot, which is now half empty, and carries that down to the stove, before adding back in the mulled wine from the smaller pot she’d already relocated.
In the studio, Atle comments on Solveig’s relative ease with carrying the pots. While she attributes her success to her past experience playing handball, Atle instead wonders if she is related to Mrs. Pepperpot (presumably inferring that she is able to change size at will).
Solveig moves 19.5 litres of mulled wine in total, and earns second place.
