Steve keeps his dignity

After Steve exits the house and sees Alex, he observes that he looks like “a sort of action hero” but then adds “Or as close to an action hero as you’re ever gonna look”.

Alex interrupts Steve as he reads out the last line of the task brief by saying “I’m wearing a girdle, Steve”.

Steve emerges from the caravan carrying a stuffed white tiger toy, noting that the position of its front paws gives it a natural ability to grip around his neck from behind. He then asks if there are some “dress-up clothes”, so Alex directs him to enter the secret room behind the caravan, where Steve gets very excited. He emerges from the caravan with an armful of items from the secret room, and heads inside the house with them.

The door of the house then opens to reveal that he has created a stack of characters riding the tiger, which is itself riding his back. Steve himself is wearing a top hat, moustache, and red cape.

Steve has some difficulty getting back out of the house with all of the extra height stacked up on his shoulders, and has to basically get down and shuffle out on his backside, noting that it’s tricky to figure out “How to do it and still maintain some dignity”.

Managing to stand back up on the doormat, Steve then has some difficulty getting the stack of characters he has created to remain balanced upright, during which the balloon head of one of the characters falls onto the driveway. Although he does manage to retrieve the head, he is battling the wind, and doesn’t have the reach to place it back on top of the stack he is trying to balance, so eventually ends up abandoning it.

Holding the tiger’s paws together around his neck using his chin, he then awkwardly waves and does a thumbs-up with his impressive load, leading Alex to comment “Oh, you’ve kept your dignity”.

In the studio, Steve admits that when he’d found out about the secret dressing-up room, he was “that little five-year-old boy again”. Greg notes that seeing Steve acting like a five-year-old boy was “very creepy”.

Upon a final review of the photos of each of the contestants with their loads, Greg states “That doesn’t look as good as a I remember, Steve”, and he awards him 3 points.
