Pierre investigates his paper
While initially opening his gift, Pierre showboats to the camera, flinging wrapping paper and the box all around the lab. This ultimately results in him losing time when the follow-up task starts, as he has to spend some time gathering everything back up and placing it all on the table.
He carefully peels the clear packing tape from the cardboard box, informing Antoine that he intends to repurpose it to help rewrap his gift.
With his plan in place, Pierre examines the remaining scraps of wrapping paper, noticing that one has a distinct wedge shape, meaning that it belongs around one of the corners of the box.
Pierre’s final rewrapped gift demonstrates that he likely is not much of a gift wrapper anyway, as there are some fundamental flaws with it (notably how he deals with overlapping paper from two different sides of the box).
When Antoine officially ends the task, Pierre takes great joy in smacking the gift back off of the table.
Louis awards Pierre second place.
