Virginie doubles her presents

When Virginie finds the follow-up task brief inside the unwrapped present, she pretends that it reads “Well done. You’ve won!”. With no expression on her face, she claims to be happy, and then starts to leave the lab, before quickly doubling back to actually begin the task.

As she starts to carefully pull the pieces of wrapping paper back together, she muses that she has to think about “the facets of the cube” when rewrapping. She also reveals to Antoine that her philosophy is that one must take pleasure in whatever they do – before then informing Antoine that, at that exact moment in time, she “hates everything”.

When she realises that she has no tape to secure the wrapping paper, Viriginie starts tearing strips off of the paper, informing Antoine that her wrapping job will “be more like patchwork”. Somehow, she manages to finish her rewrapping project with a few extra strips of wrapping paper (much as one might finish assembling a piece of IKEA furniture to find one has a few extra screws). She uses this extra material to wrap the initial task brief, and lean it against her gift.

Louis awards Virginie third place.
