Joonas enjoys the role reversal
The footage of Joonas’ attempt begins with Pilvi entering the house and finding the popcorn bowl empty.
As she searches around, Joonas attempts to get into her head, rhetorically asking if anyone had heard the sound of a car driving away for a while before returning.
He then expresses his relief that, for once, the roles have been reversed: Pilvi is the one wandering around at a loss for what to do, while Joonas calmly stands nearby, possessing answers that he will not tell her.
Pilvi eventually searches the nearby bathroom and finds a half-popped piece of popcorn on the floor. When she questions Joonas about this, Joonas feigns ignorance, but takes the popcorn from Pilvi and throws it outside. Pilvi chases after it, but Joonas questions why she is doing so, claiming that she had handed him an unpopped kernel, not a piece of popped corn.
Pilvi searches the grass where Joonas had thrown the corn, eventually finding it and showing it to the camera, proving that it was in fact half-popped, before eating it.
In the studio, Pilvi admits that she still does not know what had happened to Joonas’ popcorn, so more video footage is shown, showing Joonas transferring the popcorn into the toilet bowl, and then asking the crew if anyone wanted to eat some, before flushing it all away. Back in the studio, Pilvi – who is well-known for disliking food waste – makes a horrified face at the revelation.
A brief argument breaks out in the studio about whether Joonas’ half-popped piece of popcorn should count. Pirjo and Pamela believe it should, while Joonas counters that if someone wanted French fries, they wouldn’t just go to the market and buy chunks of potato. Eero eventually breaks up the argument, telling Pirjo and Joonas to just be happy with whatever their results are, and pointing out that he’d tried using hockey sticks in his own failed attempt.
Jaakko initially awards Joonas second place, but muses that due to the rules of rounding, that a half-popped piece of popcorn should be rounded down to an unpopped piece. He therefore awards Joonas joint first place.
