Thomas uses a coffee break
Thomas retreats to the house and soon emerges with a porcelain coffee pot (the same one used Jacob Taarnhoj in his attempt) and two mugs. When Mark questions if they will be taking a coffee break, Thomas replies that he couldn’t find any other pitchers.
Thomas loops a rope around Mark, and stands him on one side of the red green, then positions himself on the other side with the other end of the rope. Then – in a move very reminiscent of Sam Campbell’s method of bringing down Wayne the air dancer – the two walk the length of the red green parallel to one another, thereby trapping the pole and forcing the cup down to their level.
Thomas then grabs the cup and – while bending awkwardly – pours nearly the entire coffee pot full of water into it, until it overflows. He also makes sure that he places the coffee pot down onto the grass afterwards, avoiding the risk of being disqualified for touching the red green, even after the task has been completed.
Although Lasse voices his suspicion that Thomas could not have come up with such an intelligent strategy on his own, Mark insists that everything had been above board.
Thomas completes the task in just 3 minutes and 7 seconds, and earns first place.
