Episode synopsis

In this episode the contestants must bring in the thing most people want to touch, make the best quick-change outfit, build the tallest cardboard box tower, work out the perimeter of the caravan in beans, and make the most exotic fruit hat.

Title context

Failure to take a 'mean bean measurement' was what Greg Davies attributed Rhod's inaccurate estimate to, in the 'Work out the perimeter of the caravan in beans' task.

Alternate Titles

  • On Denmark's TV2 Play streaming platform, this episode is titled 'Bønnemøde', which translates as 'Bean meeting'. The Danish word 'bønnemøde' means 'prayer meeting'. However, in this context, it appears to be a play on words, as 'bønne' also means 'bean', and the English word 'mode' is a type of mathematical average.
  • On Finland's MTV Katsomo streaming platform, this episode is titled 'Papukeskiarvo', which translates as 'Average bean'. [Translator credit: zador]
  • On Norway's Discovery+ Norge streaming platform, this episode is titled 'Den slemme bønnen', which translates as 'The mean bean'. Note: this Norwegian translation of the title only appears in the subtitles for the episode, whereas the episode title listed on the platform is the original English title. Taskmaster's Sign-off

What have we learnt today? We've learnt that if you're looking to build your own home, don't take advice from James. Or Jessica, or Kerry. Or Phil, or Rhod. Don't take advice from any of them. But most importantly, Kerry Godliman is the winner of the first show. What an impressive human being she is. Thank you for watching. We'll see you next time.
