Episode 12: Make Me a Breadstick

Episode synopsis

In this episode, the contestants must bring in the best pair of things, drink a glass of liquid while keeping their mouths open, have the best first wedding dance with Antoine, push a watermelon up a slide using only breadsticks, and pop up a tent before popping on a onesie.

Title context

While reading the brief for the ‘Push the watermelon up the slide using breadsticks’ task, Richardson Zéphir misreads the word ‘grissini’ (the Italian name for breadsticks) as “grissin”, presumably confusing it with the French word for breadstick, ‘gressin’. In the studio, Richardson then insists that his pronunciation is correct, pointing to the existence of the show “Fais-moi un Grissin” (‘Make Me a Breadstick’). This show does not exist – Richardson was making a joke referencing the actual show Fais-Moi un Dessin (‘Draw Something for Me’, the Quebecois adaptation of Win, Lose, or Draw). His joke hinges on the fact that ‘dessin’ and ‘gressin’ rhyme, though he is still purposefully mispronouncing the word as “grissin” in his joke.
