Cockatoo Island (Wareamah)

Cockatoo Island (called Wareamah by Indigenous Australians who inhabited the land prior to European settlement) is an island located at the confluence of the Parramatta River and Lane Cove River in Sydney Harbour, Australia.
Between 1839 and 1869, Cockatoo Island was operated as a convict penal establishment, primarily as a place of secondary punishment for convicts who had re-offended in the colonies.
Between 1857 and 1991, Cockatoo Island was also the site of one of Australia's biggest shipyards, and the first of its two dry docks was built by convicts.
Cockatoo Island has been managed by the Sydney Harbour Federation Trust since 2001, and has hosted a number of major arts events since 2005. In 2010, UNESCO proclaimed the island to be a World Heritage Site.
Taskmaster connection
The island was used for the production of some pre-filmed tasks during the fourth season of Taskmaster AU.

First appearance
The island is first seen during the 'Move a box over the red line' task, in the second episode of season 4.
