Pop the balloons with your darts
- In this live studio task, the contestants must take turns in trying to pop balloons with their darts, while not bursting the 'bad' ones (which contain some sort of powder).
- The goal of the task may be either to pop the most balloons, or to pop the last one.
- There may or may not be requirements on how many darts must be thrown in each round, and how many balloons must be popped in each round.
Original version
In this version of the task, there are a large number of balloons attached to the stage, arranged in a rectangular formation, and the aim of the game is to be the person who pops the most balloons. There is no requirement that the contestants throw a certain number of darts, or pop a certain number of balloons, in each round. The winner earns 10 points, while the remaining contestants are scored between 1 and 4 points, based on the number of balloons burst.
Adaptations
In this version of the task, there are just 21 balloons on the stage, arranged in a triangle, and the aim of the game is to be the person who pops the last balloon, as long as it’s not one of the two ‘bad’ balloons which contain some sort of powder. The contestants must throw between one and three darts, and pop between one and three balloons, per round. Other than the winner, who scores 5 points, the contestants appear to be scored based on how many balloons they had managed to pop.
