Episode synopsis

In this episode the contestants must bring in the most elegant thing beginning with 'G', sit on a cake, get the most balls into a net, prevent Alex from scoring a goal, and pop the most balloons.

Title context

'Croissants is croissants' was the rebuttal offered by Alex Horne to Guz Khan's claim that croissants were baked goods, and therefore counted as cake, in the 'Sit on a cake' task.

Alternate Titles

  • On Finland's MTV Katsomo streaming platform, this episode is titled 'Kroissantti on kroisssantti', which translates as 'A croissant is a croissant'. [Translator credit: zador]
  • On Sweden's SVT Play streaming platform, this episode is titled 'Tårtbak och baklängesmål', which translates as 'Cake baking and backwards goal'. The title is referencing the cake-baking which occurs in the 'Sit on a cake' task, and the goalpost-reversing that happens during the 'Prevent Alex from scoring a goal' task. • On Norway's Discovery+ Norge streaming platform, this episode is titled 'Croissanter er Croissanter', which translates as 'Croissants are croissants'. The word for 'are', 'is', and 'am' in Norwegian is the same: 'er', so there's no way to translate this in a slightly grammatically incorrect way like the original title. Note: this Norwegian translation of the title only appears in the subtitles for the episode, whereas the episode title listed on the platform is the original English title. Taskmaster Intro

Hello, and a very warm welcome to this landmark episode in Taskmaster history. Today is our 100th episode. Over the years, 65 brave competitors have completed over 500 tasks. I've handed out over 7,700 points during my time as Taskmaster. But I thought, on this special occasion, I would shine a light on the unsung hero of the show, my faithful assistant. Tonight's all about Alex. I know he gets nervous public speaking, so I've prepared everything for him. Alex, enjoy.

And a man who I know for a fact talcs his bot-bot before bed. For the hundredth time, please welcome... little Alex Horne!

    Taskmaster's Sign-off

So what have we learnt today? Well, after 100 shows, I've at last learnt that I've misjudged Alex. He works so hard, he's so creative, he's so loyal, so nice, and I just throw it back in his face. So to mark today, I wanted to rip up the past and start afresh, old friend. I've got you a little card just to... You can see it for yourself, just to say thank you [gives Alex a card which says 'Thank you' on the outside, but 'I look like a big human shrew.' on the inside]. That's the 100th show done. Well done, everybody, and well done to the person that won this episode. It's Guz Khan.
