Launch day highlights

February 16 was the date I had chosen to officially launch this site, as that is my Reddit Cake Day (i.e. the anniversary of me joining the site).

That seemed like an appropriate day to choose, since Reddit was where I discovered that I just might be able to experience all of the international version of Taskmaster, thanks to the hard work of the fanbase there. And it was that discovery that led to my decision to build this database.

So it also made sense to me that Reddit should be the place where I make the official launch announcement. I didn't know what kind of reception it would get, but the response was overwhelmingly positive, with a few piece of useful constructive criticism and extra feature suggestions thrown in.

On launch day, the site received 1,871 unique visitors - so many more than I had anticipated! Fortunately, the traffic doesn't appear to have strained my hosting account too much.

After someone in the Reddit comments made the suggestion, I tweeted at Alex Horne, to suggest that he might appreciate the level of admin involved in building the database.

While Alex has not made any comment about the site as yet, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that he had followed the site's Twitter account later that day.
