    Special synopsis

This second Champion of Champions special, consisting of a single episode, aired on 23 June 2022, and featured the series champions from Taskmaster series 6 through 10: Ed Gamble (season 9); Kerry Godliman (season 7); Liza Tarbuck (season 6); Lou Sanders (season 8); and Richard Herring (season 10).

These champions must look the most like a champion in the title sequence, bring in something that makes everyone go, "Wow, that really is the greatest thing.", feed themselves a grape in an elaborate way, create a wonderful seaside photo cut-out board, get a duck into a pond, and mislead the Taskmaster about the contents of their suitcases.

The live studio segments were filmed on 15 September 2021, after social distancing restrictions had been eased in the UK, allowing for the presence of a live studio audience at Pinewood Studios in Iver Heath, near London.

    Taskmaster Intro

Hello! Thank you! I'm Greg Davies, and welcome to a special Champion of Champions episode where the winners of series six to ten come together to determine who is the person motivated enough to take home the most hollow of prizes. Who is the most driven to prove that they are the best at completing tasks that have no real-world application? Who of our five will delude themselves into thinking that any of this matters, and become our second Taskmaster Champion of Champions? Let us meet these incredible titans of the absurd.

    Assistant Intro

And next to me, the antithesis of a champion. A man whose mother once told me, in a quiet moment that, as a child he was, and I quote, 'So irritating that we paid for a barrage of medical tests.' It's little Alex Horne!

    Special prize

The prize up for grabs in this special is a golden statue of what Greg claims is his actual body.

During the special, a miniature version of the statue is on display next to Greg's throne.

At the end of the special, a life-size version is stood on stage, and the winner gets to mount the trophy they won in their series on top of it.

    Taskmaster's Sign-off

Richard Herring is the new Champion of Champions. Please go and collect your wow-worthy prizes and your Taskmaster trophy.

    Notes

    • The studio segments of the special were filmed back on 15 September 2021, as documented (with no real spoilers) in Richard Herring's blog post on that date.
    • On 8 June 2022 it was announced that the special would air immediately after series 13, on 23 June 2022.
