Series 1

Season synopsis

The first series of Junior Taskmaster aired between the 8th of November 2024 and the 23rd of December 2024.

The series was hosted by Rose Matafeo (as the Taskmaster), and Mike Wozniak (as her assistant), and featured contestants aged between 9 and 11 years.

The series was structured as a tournament, with the first five episodes each featuring five new contestants. The two highest-scoring contestants from each heat were then seeded into a pair of semi-final episodes, from which the five highest-scoring contestants qualifed to compete in grand final, to decide the overall winner.

Casting for the series was open until 30 June 2023, with a shortlisting process leading to a one-day games workshop in London, scheduled for 15 July 2023.

Filming of the tasks for the tournament heats took place between September and November 2023, and filming of the live studio sessions for the heats took place between the 18th and 20th of December 2023.

Filming of the tasks for the semi-finals and grand final took place in January 2024, with the live studio sessions for those stages taking place on the 5th and 7th of February 2024.

Notes

• On 25 May 2023, the application process for contestants for the first series of Junior Taskmaster opened up via CastItReach.
• On 18 October 2023, applications opened via SRO Audiences for tickets to attend the live studio recording sessions for the heats of the series, taking place over five sessions on the 25th and 26th of November 2023. These dates were subsequently changed, with the sessions rescheduled to take place on the 18th, 19th, and 20th December 2023 instead.
• In late December, tickets to attend the live studio filming sessions for the semi-finals and final were made available via SRO Audiences, with the semi-finals scheduled to take place on the 5th of February, and the final taking place on the 7th February 2024.
• On the 23rd of October 2024, it was reported that the season would begin airing from the 8th of November 2024.
