Episode synopsis

This fifth heat of the series features contestants August, Olivia, Reuben, Scarlett and Sid attempting to make it through to the semi-finals.

The contestants must bring in the most interesting item that fits inside a pillowcase, get a duck along some guttering and into a bucket, wrap a present while maintaining eye contact with Mike, accurately play a series of notes, and then put red clips on blue spikes and blue rings on red spikes. In a tie-breaker for second place and a seat in the semi-finals, two contestants then have to throw a feather as far as possible.

Title context

Olivia tells Mike Wozniak that he has “nice shiny buttons” during the ‘Play these notes’ task.

Taskmaster Intro

Hello, and welcome to Junior Taskmaster. I’m Rose Matafeo, but hopefully some of you know that by now. Now we’ve made it to the last heat of the series, unless you’re watching this episode out of order, which is quite a weird thing for you to be doing. You’re sick, you need help. Just in case you’re out of the loop, over the series, 25 children are battling through five heats and two semis in the hope of reaching the grand final and getting their pint sized paws on this. Ooh. Yeah. Fun fact about this head: its eyes follow you around the room wherever you go; and at night, it whispers you dark, terrible, haunting things. Frankly, I need it out of my house.

Assistant Intro

And, of course, what would the Junior Taskmaster be without their trusty assistant. He is a man for all seasons. He has the twinkling eyes of a shopping mall Santa and, you know, the general vibe of an old grandfather clock brought to life by a spell. It is, of course, Mike Wozniak.

Taskmaster's Sign-off

And that brings us to the end of the Junior Taskmaster series one heats. Next week is the first semi-final, and you won’t believe what we have in store for you. Unless you believe it’s more tasks, in which case you will believe, because that is what we have in store for you. Until then, let’s hear it for all of our contestants this week, and of course our winner Scarlett.
