Task brief

The task brief is attached to a stanchion pole on the patio, just outside the door of the house, and has a small rubber duck on top of it. The brief for the task is as follows:

Make this duck travel the furthest down these pipes and into the red bucket.

You must be behind the start line for the duck’s journey.

When you are ready for your official attempt, you must duck and shout ‘Duck!’.

The duck that travels the furthest down the pipes wins.

You have 10 minutes.

Your time starts now.

Task notes

  • A red velvet rope is strung between two stanchion poles just outside the door of the house.
  • Next to these, there are several lengths of plastic guttering, an empty red bucket, a blue bucket full of water, and a stack of many foam house bricks.
  • This task is clearly specifically inspired by Ed Gamble’s ill-fated attempt at the original ‘Get the duck into the pond‘ task.
