Wil scares away the birds using parental disappointment

Wil initially wonders if he can come up with a scarecrow that is like a disappointed parent.

He then emerges from behind the trees, dressed as a cow. His scarecrow ‘parent’ is made from one of the large half-bananas which are new features to the Taskmaster house grounds, which he has dressed in a coat and a hat. The other half-banana apparently represents what Wil has become, and has the top half of a mannequin gaffer-taped to it. Also present, there is also a bale of hay with the inflatable shark and a helmet on it, along with a small red spotted dog and the zebra.

Wil explains that his creation is a tableau of what his father had wanted him to be, and what he has become. When Tom Cashman asks if his father had wanted him to be a cow, Wil claims that his costume is a visual metaphor for not having taken over the dairy farm.

Wil then informs Tom that cows cry milk. When Tom says he doesn’t think that is true, Wil replies “What do you know Tom? Did you ever disappoint your father by dressing up as a cow on national TV instead of staying on the family farm?”. Wil then suggests that Tom is scared by reality.

Once everything has been moved to the sunflower patch, Wil states that this task attempt might be his best one.

In the studio, the motion-activated camera footage of the sunflower patch shows that one bird had skirted around the edge of the patch but had not entered. A dog also made an appearance, followed by a boy on a dirt bike.

Wil is the only contestant to successfully scare birds away from the patch, and earns 5 points.
