Jenny plays chess in space

Jenny’s attempt sees her walking around the garden, searching for an “elite” chess club she has heard of.

Tom Cashman is standing guard outside the door of the shed, wearing an upside-down silver skeleton mask. Jenny approaches Tom and asks if she can join the elite chess club, but Tom denies all knowledge of it.

When she asks him about it again, he tells her that it may be possible for A$1 million. Jenny happens to have exactly this amount of money on her, and so hands it over to him, in return for which Tom gives her a chess hat, which is shaped like a lobster.

Jenny enters the shed, which is filled with mist, and we next see her inside the lab (which is being used for the interior of the club). Tom is on duty again inside the elite chess club, but this time he’s wearing a red hat, a waistcoat, and sunglasses. There are chess pieces dangling from the ceiling, and a disco ball on the table by the chess board.

Tom’s character welcomes Jenny to “the most exclusive chess club”, and instructs her that everyone must be skateboarding while inside. Jenny picks up and rides a skateboard, while commenting on how it’s all “so cool”. Tom replies that he doesn’t care, leading Jenny to respond with “so nonchalant”.

When she asks Tom why all the chess pieces are floating in the air, Tom explains that it’s because they’re in space.

She plucks a chess piece from the air and calls her move, “Z2 to Y58”. In response to this move, Tom exclaims, “Oh my god, rookie, you’re a genius!”. Her attempt ends with Jenny speaking directly at the camera, saying “Checkmate. That was so cool.”

In the studio, Tom Gleeson describes Jenny’s attempt as pretty cool and effortless, and Jenny notes that the nonchalance was part of her personal criteria of what cool means.

Jenny earns 5 points for her cool space chess.
