Josh turns chess into a musical
Josh performs a multi-character song and dance in the lab, which has been divided up into squares to represent a chess board.
The footage cuts between him playing the white pieces and the black pieces on the board (four of each, composited together in the edit). The white pieces are wearing lime skirts and vest top with chiffon scarf. The black pieces are wearing black robes.
The lyrics to his song are as follows:
Queen
Hey, hey, I am coming to get you
Hey, hey, I am coming to get you
Hey, hey, I am coming to get you
Hey, hey, I am coming to get you
No, you won’t!
No, you won’t!
Rat tat tat, rat tat tat,
Rat tat tat ra
Rat tat tat, rat tat tat,
Rat tat tat ra
Get the sword
The sword
Good idea
Here comes the sword
Oh no oh no
No, not my king!
Waah
Oh, no, I’m dead!
Yeah, we got the king
Yeah, we got the king
Yeah, we got the king
Yeah, we got the king
In the studio, Tom Gleeson says that Josh’s performance was cool, but he questions whether it was chess. Josh explains that when you play chess you imagine a theatrical battle, and that he was recreating this in dance.
Despite Josh having played chess pieces in battle on a chessboard, Tom Gleeson decides that it was the least chess-like, and awards him just 1 point.
