Everyone dances at the silent disco

The first track the contestants dance to is Umbrella by Rhihanna. Anne really goes for it, while Lloyd slowly moves around the stage doing a version of the robot. Wil is the one without any music, but Tom Gleeson guesses that it had been Lloyd, so no-one is eliminated.

The second track they dance to is Sandstorm by Darude. In this round, Lloyd is the one with no music, and he just repeats his previous robot dance. Tom Gleeson notices that Lloyd had started dancing slightly later than everyone else, so correctly identifies him this time, and Lloyd is eliminated first, receiving 1 point.

The third track the contestants dance to is Single Ladies by Beyonce. Anne is still really enjoying herself. Josh has no music, and Tom Gleeson notices that he had been watching the others for clues, so Tom again guesses correctly, and Josh is eliminated second, earning 2 points.

The fourth track they dance to is Y.M.C.A. by the Village People. Once again, Wil has no music. Anne continues to simply go for it, while Jenny very subtly performs the traditional actions for the song (spelling out the letters with her arms). Based on Jenny’s dance, Tom identifies the song they are listening to, and then has to decide whether it was Wil or Anne who had deliberately decided not to perform the usual dance for that song. Tom correctly chooses Wil, who is eliminated third and earns 3 points.

The fifth track played is Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5 in C minor. Anne dances quite expressively, leading Tom Gleeson to comment that it looks like she is performing mime. He incorrectly guesses that Anne has no sound playing on her headphones, so both she and Jenny remain in the game.

The sixth track played is Pony by Ginuwine. Anne, once again, dances very expressively, while Jenny sedately dances to no sound. Tom incorrectly guesses again that Anne is the one not hearing music, so again no-one is eliminated.

The seventh and final track played is Crank That by Soulja Boy. Anne and Jenny both continue dancing as they have been. Tom says that he feels like the game is actually a task for him, rather than them. He then decides that the rules of probability would suggest that it must this time be Anne who is not listening to music. This time, he is correct, so Anne is eliminated and earns 4 points, while Jenny wins the task.

Tom Cashman reminds the Taskmaster that he also needs to award a bonus point for the best overall dancing and, without a second’s thought, Tom Gleeson awards the point to Anne.
