Joonas talks about his surroundings

Just as Pamela had, Joonas uses his immediate surroundings for inspiration for things to talk about.

He compliments Pilvi’s bowtie before looking around the lab, commenting on its brown ceiling, and wondering whether it is varnished or waxed.

He says that he’s not particularly knowledgeable about trees (likely segueing from the topic of the wooden ceiling of the lab), and then admits that he’s not particularly knowledgeable about much. He says that while doing the show, he’s come across many things that aren’t what he would consider his area of expertise, but believes that it’s good that he came across them, regardless.

He says that it’s difficult to speak aloud while also trying to mentally keep track of the passing time.

Joonas is then shown questioning Pilvi about an answer she appears to have given him in footage that does not make the edit of his attempt, regarding “180 performances” [Note: this is likely in reference to the number of non-studio task attempts shown during the season – five contestants attempting three filmed tasks during each of 12 episodes. Suurmestari uses the word ‘suoritus’ (performance) whenever task attempts are described, but this is usually translated in the fan subtitles as ‘attempt’]. As Joonas expresses his disbelief at the number, he notices Pilvi click her stopwatch, and stops talking, asking if the task is over. Somewhat dejected, Joonas leaves the lab, thanking Pilvi, but informing her that he still had “a little more to say”.

Joonas talks for 4 minutes and 9 seconds, and earns joint third place.
