Everyone plays ‘Candy on a Cactus’

During the candy selection time, Pirjo loudly sings to cover up any sounds she might be making while removing candies from her cactus.

Pirjo leaves two candies on her cactus. When Jaakko asks her how she arrived at her answer, she jokingly replies “by taking away the other three”, before saying that leaving two is just “common sense”.

Joonas leaves four candies on his cactus.

Pamela leaves just one candy on her cactus. When Jaakko calls Pamela’s strategy risky, she argues that “no-one else has the courage” to leave the actual lowest possible number on their cactus.

Olga leaves three candies on her cactus, although Jaakko initially believes that she has left just two, since one of her candies is obscured from his line of sight.

At this point, four out of the five contestants have all chosen to leave unique numbers of candies on their cactus. This leads to an interjection from Pilvi, who says that she won’t be able to handle it if Eero has managed to leave the final remaining unique number of candies (five) on his own cactus.

Fortunately for Pilvi’s sanity – but unfortunately for Eero – Eero has left two candies on his cactus, thus disqualifying both himself and Pirjo (despite Pirjo demanding that he check the other side of his cactus to see if Jaakko has made another mistake).

As the person with the lowest unique number of candies on her cactus, Pamela wins the task.

Despite the wording of the task implying that Joonas and Olga should also earn some points, neither of them do.
