Joonas performs a tour de force, while Pirjo’s guesses are on point
Joonas is chosen to write the list of animals for his team. As Joonas writes, Pirjo – clearly aware that there will be a second part of the task, and attempting to give her team a strong head-start on whatever it might be – whispers that he should write easy animals, and try to prioritise listing animals that make noises. His list of animals is as follows:
- Koira (dog)
- Kissa (cat)
- Käärme (snake)
- Lehmä (cow)
- Possu (piggy)
- Hevonen (horse)
- Sammakko (frog)
- Leijona (lion)
- Aasi (donkey)
- Lintu (bird)
Joonas is also chosen to mime for his team, while Pirjo guesses.
First, Joonas gallops while saying “Gi”, and Pirjo correctly guesses that he is a horse (‘hevonen’).
He then squats and holds his fingers above his head, saying “Ooo”, and Pirjo correctly identifies that he is a bunny (‘pupu’).
Standing back up, Joonas starts to lick the back of his hand while saying “Jii”, and Pirjo correctly guesses he is a cat (‘kissa’).
Joonas then squats again and pants “Jiji”. Pirjo isn’t certain of his mime this time, so Joonas drops to his hands and knees and continues panting, at which point Pirjo correctly identifies that he is a dog (‘koira’).
Remaining on his hands and knees, Joonas then mimes lazy chewing while saying “Kkk”, and Pirjo quickly and correctly guesses that he is a cow (‘lehmä’).
Joonas then gets back to his feet before huddling his arms close to his chest and miming gnawing on something as he says “Nnnn”, and Pirjo correctly identifies that he is a squirrel (‘orava’).
Joonas then starts flapping his arms, and Pirjo correctly guesses that he is a bird (‘lintu’).
Joonas then squats again and scratches his head while grunting “ Öö”, and Pirjo correctly identifies that he is a monkey (‘apina’).
Remaining in a squatting position, Joonas grimaces as he uses his hands to indicate something inflating on his neck, while saying “Rrr”. When Pirjo is hesitant to guess, he also adds a long extension of his arm from his mouth, which leads Pirjo to correctly guess that he is a frog (‘sammakko’).
Finally, Joonas gets back on his hands and knees, making himself as compact as possible, and says “Kiki” while using one of his hands to indicate a long tail. Amazingly, Pirjo barely hesitates before correctly identifying him as a mouse (‘hiiri’).
An elated Joonas and Pirjo hug over their joint success.
As they were able to mime and correctly guess all 10 animals, Jaakko awards the team 5 points each.
