Wil takes some slop to the face

When Wil asks what ‘slop mode’ means, Tom Cashman shrugs and offers to look it up for him. When nothing comes up in the search results, Wil realises that it’s a new thing for him to make up.

Wil stands on the ground outside the house, below the balcony, with his arms outstretched, and a bucket of slop (a mixture of things from the kitchen, including milk, yoghurt, bananas, food colouring, and mayonnaise) is dropped on him from above. The scene is shot in slow motion, with dramatic, operatic music playing over the top. Wil is initially hit on the shoulder by the slop, and then leans in so that he catches it full in the face.

Tom comments that ‘full slop mode’ goes for a while, just as Wil yells “Ah! Some went up my nose!”. When Tom asks if that is the end of ‘full slop mode’, Wil responds that it might also be the end of his career.

In the studio, Tom Gleeson comments that he likes how Wil leant into the task, prompting Wil to state that you can’t just let the slop find you – you have to find the slop (thus coining the episode title). Tom Gleeson states that he is worried about Wil, suggesting that Wil had probably turned down playing the role of Taskmaster. Tom asks him again how much money he needs, as he would prefer that to watching him participate on the show anymore. Wil laughs that “That felt a bit real”.

Wil earns 2 points for his interpretation of ‘full slop mode’.
