Lloyd stays close to Wil and Jenny

While receiving his solo brief, Lloyd works out that 50cm is approximately the length from his fingers to his elbow, giving him a good indicator to work with.

In the team task, Wil is chosen to lie down on the mattress and identify items. Wil puts the blindfold on and then Lloyd holds Wil’s shoulders while he moves onto the mattress. Perhaps stalling so that he can spend more time in close proximity to Wil, Lloyd then asks if Wil is allowed to use his hands, and Jenny reads the task brief again to check. While Jenny reads, Wil is sat on the mattress and Lloyd stands with his arm stretched towards him, gesturing to the camera to emphasise his distance.

Jenny suggests that they remove the blanket and pillow from the mattress to make it easier for Wil to identify objects through it. She takes acre of this while Lloyd remains close to Wil, lifting him up and then guiding him back down afterwards.

Jenny and Lloyd then go in search of items together. When they return, Lloyd places a ball underneath the mattress, which Wil can feel is round by sitting on it and rolling, but he then guesses that it’s a shoe.

They then place a bowling pin under the mattress, and Will tries feeling with his hands, but incorrectly identifies it as a hat.

They then try placing a guitar beneath the mattress, but it bangs on the floor during the process, giving Wil an audible clue, so Tom Cashman disqualifies the item.

Jenny and Lloyd return to the lab with more items, and while Jenny places a basketball under the mattress, Lloyd holds Wil’s shoulder. Wil identifies that the item is bouncy, and then tries to think of things around the house that might move up and down, before incorrectly identifying it as some kind of pump.

The team try a few more items but Wil keeps failing to identify them, even a big plastic chair which doesn’t even fit fully under the mattress.

Near the end of their time, the team realise that they can repeat items, so they carefully place the guitar back underneath the mattress, and Wil correctly identifies it.

In the studio, Jenny and Wil share that they’d thought that Lloyd’s off behaviour was down to him just being really into teamwork, and Wil admits that he’d found Lloyd touching his shoulder throughout the task very reassuring.

It is revealed that Lloyd had successfully remained within 50cm of his team-mates for 71% of the time, so the 1 point initially awarded by Tom Gleeson for their poor performance is doubled, and The Discount Wiggles earn 2 points.
