Josh’s fictional character
Josh makes up a cartoon character who he calls ‘Set It Straight Shirley’, which naturally Lloyd (along with everyone else in the world) would have never heard of.
Set It Straight Shirley is a flat clay figure wearing a crown, and is depicted pointing at a screen, on which a series of images of chess pieces holding swords is shown, contradicting Tom Gleeson’s argument, during discussion of Josh’s attempt at the ‘Make chess cool’ task, back in the first episode of the season, that chess pieces don’t have swords.
Josh then reveals some hidden camera footage that a show producer had taken for him in Tom Gleeson’s dressing room, in which the producer prompts Tom to admit that he likes Josh but that it’s just funnier to be mean to him.
Tom admires the way that Josh had made the task all about himself instead of Lloyd, and so awards him 4 points.
