Andy plays a boring ghost
Andy responds that he was “Born ready”.
After he’s read the task brief, Alex asks him whether he’s aware of doorbell cameras, and Andy says that he’s “aware of their work”, before claiming that Star Wars was filmed on a doorbell camera.
Andy’s footage begins with Alex ringing the doorbell and checking his watch. As he rings the doorbell a second time, a figure under a white sheet can be seen approaching from behind.
The ghost eventually addresses Alex, claiming to be his future, and to know all about his plans to destroy the Taskmaster. Alex readily admits that this has been his plan all along, since the very first episode of the show. He then reveals that the destruction will happen in the studio when this very task is being shown, and that “revenge will be sweet”. He won’t let the ghost disclose what he’s getting his revenge for, though, insisting that it remain a secret between him and the ghost. A chicken then rises in front of the camera, stating “We know. We always know.” in a creepy voice, but apparently only the ghost can see it, and Alex is completely oblivious to it.
In the studio, Greg says that he’d initially been intrigued by the ghost, but then quickly found him to be “quite boring”. Andy argues that ghosts often are quite boring, due to the “mundanity” of “being a ghost for all eternity” causing them to lose their “spark”. He also points out that the ghost was from Alex’s future, so was “probably going to be quite dull” anyway.
Ultimately, Greg is unable to decide which of Babatunde’s or Andy’s attempts was the least remarkable, so he awards them both 2 points.
