Andy, Babatunde, and Emma compete as the Cheetahz

After the task brief has been read, Andy immediately suggests that they get their phones. While Alex is handing out the teams’ answer sheets, Andy leaves the room, and returns with some earphones and an encyclopaedia. When Babatunde asks Andy how he intends to use the book without being caught, Andy admits that that’s the next challenge.

Emma then finds the address book containing Sue Perkins’ phone number, so they add it to Babatunde’s phone for future use.

When Alex asks for their team name, Emma tells him that they are “Cheetahz”. Meanwhile, Andy is positioning a hand mirror behind one of the other teams, in an attempt to copy their answers during the quiz.

While Alex is fetching his microphone, Emma announces the provocative suggestion that, as they are all married, one of the ways they could ‘cheat’ would be romantically, with one another. Andy suggests that maybe a handshake would be more acceptable than a kiss on the cheek, as she is suggesting, while Babatunde says that he doesn’t think it’s that kind of cheating.

Emma finds the leaflet containing facts on rodents and tries to share it with her team-mates under the table, but Alex is standing right next to them at this point, and catches her in the act. He confiscates both the leaflet and the encyclopaedia from them, and also orders Babatunde to remove the wireless earphones he is wearing. At this point, Andy comments that they are “pretty much back to square one”.

In round one of the quiz, when the question about Mary Queen of Scots comes up, Emma decides to create a distraction by feigning choking, so that Babatunde can retrieve the relevant book from behind Alex.

For the next question, about the boiling point of mercury, the team all look around for clues and then Emma and Andy both crane to see what the team next to them is writing.

When Alex asks the next question about what some states have in common, Emma creates another distraction by faking being in extreme pain, and lying down on the floor in front of Alex, asking him to “come down and help” her. While Alex declines to help her, Babatunde gets up and fetches the atlas from the other side of the room. Andy then looks for answers in the book while Emma whispers to Alex about how sick she feels. Alex then offers Emma a blanket, and leaves the room to find her one. While he is out of the room, Andy tries to find the answer on his phone.

In round two, during the snooker break score question, Emma (now wearing a blanket around her shoulders) suggests again to her team that they do a quick “romantic cheat”, and Andy immediately holds up his hand for her to kiss, before suggesting that they never speak of it again. Alex sees this happening and can’t stop himself from laughing.

When Alex asks the question about Sue Perkins’ favourite sport, Emma creates yet another distraction by yelling at Alex that she needs a sick bucket. While Alex leaves the room to fetch one, Babatunde calls Sue Perkins on his phone. When the team hears that it’s a voicemail message, they talk over it and only catch the word “hockey”, before hanging up, assuming that’s the correct answer.

When the quiz teams swap answer sheets after round two, the team takes the opportunity to copy some answers from their opponents. When Alex returns while they are doing this, Babatunde claims that they’d accidentally gotten all the sheets mixed up.

When Alex announces that Sue Perkins’ favourite sport is football, Emma objects that the answer is incorrect, claiming to be Sue’s best friend, and insisting that Alex call Sue right now to check. Alex then plays the full voicemail message, revealing that the team had missed the important bit at the very end, where Sue states that she prefers football.

In the third round, Emma stands up and holds up the blanket to create a screen, to prevent Alex from seeing Andy looking up the answers to flag-related questions in the atlas. Andy then tells Alex that he’s expecting a delivery, and asks him to check whether there’s anyone at the door, so that he can have more time to look up the answers. Emma then attempts to hold the living room door shut, when Alex returns, before throwing her blanket over Andy’s lap to conceal the book.

When Alex leaves the room at the end of the third round, Emma eventually spots the folder he’s left behind, containing the answer sheet, but Alex then returns before they’ve even had a chance to really look at them, and Emma has to ashamedly return them to him.

In the studio, Alex reveals that Andy, Babatunde, and Emma had correctly answered 22 out of the 30 questions in the quiz, but had been caught cheating six times, leaving them with a score of 16.

Greg awards the team 5 points each.
