Andy is reluctant to leave the living room
Andy asks the robot whether the charging station is in the living room, but the robot responds by simply requesting “instruction”. Andy then asks if it’s “worth leaving this room”, but then spots that this contains a lot of forbidden letters. He then asks the robot if the charging station is on itself, and begins to inspect it, touching it in the process, and prompting it to ask him not to do so.
Re-reading the task brief, Andy realises that he can ask it to simply “Turn”, which works, but leads to the robot spinning around on the spot. When it asks for further instruction, Andy for some reason tells it to sing, which it does, while continuing to turn around.
Andy remembers that he’s supposed to be looking for a charging station, but for some reason doesn’t think of leaving the room, and instead hunts around the living room for something to power the robot. Finding a multi-plug extension cord, he instructs the robot to “Eat this”, while it’s still singing and rotating. In addition to this not being the correct solution, the command wouldn’t have worked anyway, since it contained an ‘E’.
Andy becomes completely paralysed for some time, umming and erring while the robot impatiently urges him to “Charge me!”. He then for some reason instructs the robot to perform “Star jumps”, which it does.
Eventually, Andy announces that he’s going to go and have a look outside, and wanders out of the front door of the house to look around, finding the charging station in the doorway of the shed, and whispering “Fucking cock” in response.
Andy returns to the living room and attempts to direct the robot out through the door but ends up using the instructions “Left” and then “Not right”, both of which are invalid. He somehow gets the robot out and down the hallway to the front door, where he directs it backwards through the doorway while saying “Hazard” to warn it of the steps.
While trying to direct the robot to the charging station while avoiding obstacles, he uses the words “Hedge” and “Cow”, neither of which are accepted. While then trying to position the robot in front of the charging station so he can plug it in, he tells it to “Stop”, which it refuses to do, and it knocks the sign off the doorway with its head. Andy is then able to plug the robot in and get it charging, after pulling a chair over and instructing it to “Sit”.
In the studio, Alex reveals that Andy had completed the task in 21 minutes, which earns him just 1 point.
